ESCO CITY CONCEPT

Companies providing Energy Services (ESCO) offer services for generating energy savings and increase of energy in using energy systems.
European standards identify the minimum levels of technical and financial competency requested by an ESCO company that can obtain the relevant certification which fulfills the necessary requirements.

REGISTRATION

ESCO CITY PROJECT BY TUD:

Municipality vs Beneficiary (Owners’ Associations)

Based upon the mandate contract, the municipality
engages in design and construction services

Payment of the the 20% contribution
for a determined period of 10 years

Implements the energy performance
measures and monitors the project for a
determined period of 3-5 years

STANDARD EPC

FROM 0-1 YEAR:

  • Design & Construction

FROM 1-11 YEARS:

  • Contracted payments: Beneficiary and designer / constructor (as ESCO)
  • The beneficiary pays a contracted installment (determined by the guaranteed performance savings)
  • Maintenance and monitoring are the responsibility of ESCO for the entire contractual period
  • ESCO guarantees that the annual savings will be reached for the entire contract period. ESCO will bear the negative savings between the guaranteed savings and the actual accomplished savings

PERSONALIZED EPC

FROM 0-1 YEAR:

  • Design & Construction

FROM 1-11 YEARS:

  • Primary contracting parties: Beneficiary and Municipality (as ESCO)
  • Second contracting parties: Municipality and designer / constructor
  • The beneficiary pays an energy efficiency tax of 20% for investments of over 10 years, without correlating with the energy performance
  • Maintenance will be the responsibility of the designer / constructor for a period of 3-5 years, being subsequently undertaken by the beneficiary
